Trying to find my way back to light and joy by doing some art. The detail work gets harder because my eyes are no longer quite as cooperative as they once were. Based on Flemish style Book of Hours borders. Gold leaf initial, bronze powder border and a mix gouache & watercolour paints, oak gall ink.

Crafty things...
A clothes dummy with arms being used to hold a skein of silk to be wound into a ball using the wool winder attached to the ironing board.. A new to me old singer sewing machine. 8019 model. Part of my sewing area on the upstairs landing. Sliding door cabinet where my steam iron, Pfaff, and Bernina sit. A tablet woven, wool band. Blues and yellow chevron pattern.

Slowly our freshwater aquarium is back up and running... the large loach ( big brown stripey fish mid image) our oldest fish, Dot, we reckon he/she is around 11 or so years old. Baby loach in the foreground for comparison.

I hear that! I use naalbinding to alleviate frustrations it's very stabby but also repetitive and I like that too. ( plus bonus points for a textile craft hat often confuses people when you pull it out at an airport)
