We are happy to announce that MERLN’s PhD Candidate, Liline Fermin, will receive the MDR Young Talent Incentive. This grant, providing €10k, will allow her to explore a new direction in her research on ‘Utilizing eosinophil response to enhance biomaterial-driven bone regeneration’. #merlninstitute

We are thrilled to announce that our Scientific Director, Lorenzo Moroni, has received the prestigious ERC Advanced Grant for his project MECCANO. This €3.5M grant will allow him to explore a new direction in his research on engineering complex materials to guide and train stem cells.

HEROS: Harnessing Eosinophils Response to improve Osteogenesis - Niloofar Tahmasebi Birgani

HEROS focuses on studying the interactions between eosinophils and the cells involved in bone regeneration, and the potential to modulate these interactions using osteogenic biomaterials.

Mimicking corneal dynamics: An organ-on-a-chip platform for corneal endothelium research - Yang Ge

This project develops a microfluidic chip that mimics the curvature, flow, and pressure conditions of the eye, creating a more suitable environment for cell growth and function.
