I did learn that Dixon was a stone mason, though, and what address he lived at in Lowell, MA.

It appears there’s no birth record for my great great grandfather (Dixon Greenough) who was born in Nova Scotia in 1848, or Fred Greenough, my great grandfather who was the first born in the US in 1875. Even though I’m pretty sure of those facts. Dead ends.

It was April-May, but there were several delayed records, so some of those didn’t happen during that period.

Ok, so, this has led me on a journey and I just need to share… causes of death on this one page of death records from Nova Scotia in 1876: scarlet fever, consumption, congestion of brain, abscess of stomach, shot, meningitis, “suddenly,” child birth, congestion of lungs, and old age.

Right? I’m pretty sure my ancestors immigrated direct to Canada in like 1805, but they spelled their names differently and I have no paperwork. There’s even a “Greeno” cemetery near the bridge to PEI.
