Five months of colour and growth at our Downham Road #raingardens in Hackney! 🌿 Planted in May with @hackneycouncil as part of plans for a greener borough, they’re already brightening streets & supporting wildlife. We went back in October to see how they’d bloomed. 🌷 #SuDS

Since the installation, the 3ft6 team says "the café has grown into more of a destination. Rather than simply popping in for takeaway, customers now feel encouraged to stay and engage with one another. This has enriched the sense of community."

We developed the Hybrid SuDS Planter - a shallow, modular system that delivers the same benefits as a rain garden, without deep excavation.🌿 Each planter has a base that captures and stores rainwater, before it slowly rises through the soil to feed the plants and reduce runoff.
