He's going through a deep trauma. Crying is a natural reaction.

He should never feel ashamed when the tears flow.

Neither should anyone else who has been socially conditioned to hide these feelings.

Your tears are valid, and they are healthy.

This was hard, and is going to continue to be hard for a while for us both.

But we'll eventually both be better for it.

If you know both of us personally, there is no reason to choose between our friendships, as far as I'm concerned.

He will need a strong support system.

I encourage any mutuals with us to reach out to him over the next few days and weeks. While I knew it was coming, he did not.

I am going to be okay. He doesn't know it right now, but so will he.

My life is taking me away from where I currently live and is bringing me about 2 hours downstate. It's a new adventure, and I'm going into this new chapter as fresh as I can.

I don't dislike him. In fact, I love him. But it hasn't been romantic love in a long time, and he deserves someone who loves him both as a lover and as a friend, rather than just as a friend.

I hope he finds that someday.
