If you’ve made it this far into my little life update then thank you 🩷 Overall I am still my happy self, and it explains a lot of why I am hesitant to jump and perhaps why I sleep so much.

But my humans have caught this whilst I am still young and will do everything they can and more to help me 🩷

I am hoping my Bluesky community could offer any advice as to how we could integrate Meredith into becoming more comfortable with water, without stressing her or causing any discomfort. And any other tricks and treats we could use to get her to engage with physiotherapy?

Finding a physiotherapist that will treat cats was no easy task! As this condition is far more prevalent and more accessible to treat in dogs. But we have found one who is willing to try and has treated some cats in the past. Hydrotherapy is also an option we would like Meredith to try.

The X-rays show the ball joint of the hips, do not fit/sit correctly in the sockets, which is potentially causing pain and definitely some discomfort. Going forward we have just started physiotherapy, in the hopes we can build up those back muscles to help support the hip joints.

At first they thought it was just stress from the move. But they brought me to the vets anyway as they noticed a strange clicking sound happening when I get up from a sitting or laying position.

A whole day in the vets and lots of X-Rays later we were given the news Meredith has hip dysplasia 😢
