Oh yeah and DEFINITELY bring up Reuters. All the ones I called were ready to dismiss me as a crank who reads conspiracy theories and then I would be like "I am reading this on Reuters RIGHT NOW."

They all shifted their attitudes immediately and one stopped for a moment to pull up the page and read

i was reminded how much i love my department and how kind everyone is. not that i'd forgotten really - they're all so lovely - but the reminder was an unexpected little joy on a cold morning at the end of an otherwise trying semester.

i'll get back to the MA eventually. i'll finish it. probably.
