My partner @alpivictoralpi.bsky.social and I collaborated on this piece for a sad robot girl zine. I did the composition and under drawing, he inked it, and then I added the tones in post.

Some cute faces I drew recently. I really like this character, if it's not obvious.

Spring break came and went forever ago, but now that school is wrapping up I'm trying to get more active on social media again. Here is a comic I made before classes started!

I was commissioned by a friend to do the cover for her book, and she just announced it officially yesterday. Here is the cover and a process shot. I did the cityscape with marker and gouache. It was my first time getting into gouache as well.

Congrats! I am slowly getting my bearing on bsky, as well! I'm Merdet, and I am a comic artist and art educator! I am currently working on a big graphic novel that I can't announce yet 🤫 but I'll share some personal/commission work!

Big industrial environments happening. Lots of cubes and tubes.

Does middlegrade horror count? I am secretly working on my own adult horror GN, but people only hire me to draw kids' books 🥲.

I am experimenting with some digital screentones I made from security envelope patterns. So far, I am really happy with the results and will probably compile the patterns i have for others to use. That being said, if you get an envelope with a really cool pattern on the inside, send it to me!

I started this over the summer with the intention of setting a higher standard for myself with commissions. But I set it down and didn't pick it back up for months 😫

I made this for my first class announcement and then had stickers printed to hand out to my classes this week. I have already gotten a lot of sweet emails from the students saying they really enjoyed the class and learned a lot from me. I'm gonna cry. 😭

I drew a Pyramidhead Miku for a screentone demo for class. We drew character costume swaps for a halloween zine, I also made the cover. I slowly feel myself falling in love with drawing again 😭

My latest graphic novel came out last month! To be honest, I've been a bit too distracted to share or be excited about it (I haven't even gotten my own copies yet) but it really does look great! My friend, Sienna, provided the colors and it looks incredible!

This is the only thing I've been able to draw in a month, and it's a conceptualization of myself as a muppet.

She likes it when I do this.

But it's a great investment opportunity!

I finally finished my poster for this years SAVAGE zine Fest in Savannah GA. I'll be at Fluke selling merch to help pay for the costs of the show at the end of this month.

While I'm waiting on the script for my current gig, I've been spending my time doing some low-stakes sketchbook drawing. It's been really helpful to decompress

The cover of my next book was finally revealed, and now I can post about it, guilt free. The Old Willis Place, script adaptation by Scott Peterson, inks by myself, and colors by my friend Sienna Haralson, will be out this July. Spoooky Summer!
