And I have been known to dabble in parrot facts as well. The Illuistrations of Parrots is a delight to look at and I have enjoyed learning about it very much. :)

Aren’t they amazing? ^v^
The Barn owl - fast, changes direction quickly, always alert and adapts whilst on the move.

Seems a suitable choice for #SuperbOwlSunday
(Although it's no good in a helmet or shoulder pads!)

Tyto alba, Barn owl.
Plate 28 from John Gould's The Birds of Great Britain, Vol. 1 (1873).

Finally put the buttons on my Halloween inspired cardigan. They may need reinforcing and I may have missed the Halloween I was making it for. Still like it though! ^_^

Monday morning Reading Room alert! While changing the new book & journal display we found an unexpected item on the book scanner.

Looks like Mary remembered her USB stick before getting Owen under control & silencing him with a strategically placed barcode! #ElfOnTheShelf #NaturalHistoryMuseum

Owen has been up to no good amongst our modern journal shelves and broken our strict No food in the collections rule. Looks like someone is not a fan of gingerbread! #ElfOnTheShelf #IntegratedPestManagement #IPM #NaturalHistoryMuseum

Looks like Owen the Elf has found his nemesis!
Usually we keep our cotton binding tape for supporting vulnerable books, but Mary Anning looks to have had enough!

You ever have that one colleague who just goes Christmas crazy in December?

That’s me, I am one colleague

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
We arrived this morning to discover an unwanted visitor has taken up home with us and started some overnight mischief!

Our Reading room busts of John Edward Gray and Brian Houghton Hodgson seem to have been made Christmas ready! #ElfOnTheShelf #NaturalHistoryMuseum #Zoology

I have spent the weekend singing and rather than feeling exhausted by the travel and effort, I’m feeling more energised. I’ll take it :)

Today I have learned the meaning of Oomf. Not quite enlightenment but suddenly makes a lot more sense

One takeaway from the Wicked film is the spikes of distress I felt as Fiyero trampled many library books. >.<

Also I want that library set up.

Dancing through life still a good song, just less book abuse please! XD

I have now watched the 1979 Pride and Prejudice… my abiding impression is how much of it was changed to be indoors compared to the other versions! Still an excellent version though :)

I swear, the builders around where I live have a sixth sense for when I want to work on recording induction videos at home and choose those moments for their noisiest work.

"So to access the *drill noise* click on the link to the right of the *Loud frenzied sawing*..." *ARGH*
