Feeling a lot of the same lately. It’s okay to step back and advocate for yourself and fill your cup to make it through this madness 🖤 You’ve done so much for pre- and current scientists

So, to save taxpayer money, the solution was to target the few who were actively trying to slow down and prevent ADRDs. Not make any changes to account for the growing aged population. And allow for this societal and economic burden to happen anyway? Costing the taxpayer more in the long run?

That means with more cases of dementia and no universal access to long-term institutionalized care, we’re talking about millions of people (family, friends, etc) providing unpaid care, time, and resources. ADRDs = triple the cost of healthcare to those affected.

Millions of people are affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses. These numbers are expected to quadruple by 2050. The economic burden of care is estimated in the billions. As the aging population increases, so does the number of people who develop ADRDs.

This is my gentle PSA to everyone that if you have access to healthcare, advocate for yourself if you feel like something’s off! You know your body best. It’s also helpful to check on your hormone levels when you visit the obgyn as good practice 🖤
