During the recent No Kings protest, this amazing group chose to turn civic action into collective kindness-gathering three moving boxes filled with essential items for our Homeless Survival Backpack Program. It was such a beautiful reflection of what community can be when advocacy meets empathy: standing up for justice and lifting up those in need. Their thoughtful donations included a wide range of cleaning and first aid supplies, toys and comfort items, and winter accessories — truly practical gifts that will help our unhoused neighbors meet daily needs with dignity. Cleaning supplies like disinfectant wipes, all- purpose cleaners, bleach, and sponges 9 First aid kits, bandages, soap, and bath wipes Warm hats and gloves • Comfort and entertainment items like decks of cards, toy cars, and fidget toys Blue Water Indivisible's effort reminds us that activism and compassion go hand in hand. One of our #BlueWaterIndivisible organizers found himself unexpectedly hospitalized last night. The hospital is across the road from the park where we were set up, so he made his family bring him poster board - that’s his blue sign, upper right. Persistence! #NoKings He had a great view!

The Constitutional Sheriff Training w/ Richard Mack held by SCC Republican Party was not very well attended, happy to say. We did get a visit from Mr. Mack and the State Police (who quickly declared they weren’t “with him”)😂. All was well. Small group for us too, but made our point!

Literally sipping (dear god do not chug) one I procured at Aldi earlier this week. I prefer this one, but I brand and flavor really matter so if you don’t hate it, you have to experiment! My dog comes running to stick his face at the bottle when I open, not sure what that means😂

Letter Reading: August 29, 2025 It is with a heavy heart that I submit my resignation as a St Clair County Commissioner. I also resign from all associated advisory and other county boards, effective today, August 29 2025. Serving the residents of St Clair County, even for a short period, has been one of the great honors of my life. I came to our county government carrying the bright light of honesty and transparency and wanting to give everyone a voice in our county government. And I was determined not to become one of the "Old Boys." I worked for everyone, anywhere in our county, not just the loudest or the favored few, irrespective of their politics or any private interests or ambitions. To that end, I believe I largely succeeded. Unfortunately, there have been many individuals prioritizing personal ambitions, political party, and the interests of a vocal few, above the greater good of our county. Their actions undermine the very principles of service that I believe should be the cornerstone of our work as public servants. It is my opinion that this board is no longer interested in offering transparency to the public they serve. They are choosing to embark on a journey in a direction that I can no longer support or lend my name to. I therefore submit my letter of resignation in protest and deep disappointment. Thursday September 4th, 6pm. 200 Grand River, PH, second floor! This board successfully stalled until clinics have closed. The grants will be lost in weeks. Now they’d like to appoint a replacement for the guy that just accused them of hiding things from the public. #Yale #PortHuron
Letter reading: “August 25, 2025 Dear Yale Parents & Community Members, We want to inform you of an important change that will affect our students and families. Yale Public Schools has received official notice from the St. Clair County Health Department that the Bulldog Health Clinic will be closed indefinitely beginning September 1st. According to the Health Department, the county medical director has determined that he is unable to provide the level of supervision required to continue operating this type of school-based health clinic. This decision was not related to funding, as the Bulldog Health Clinic was supported through a state grant and came at no cost to Yale Public Schools or to the Health Department. Since receiving this notice, we have shared our concerns with both the Health Department and county officials, emphasizing the important role the clinic has played in providing accessible health services to students and families in our community. At this time, we do not have additional information about whether the Bulldog Health Clinic will reopen in the future, but we will keep families updated as we learn more. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this change together. Respectfully, Kurt Sutton”
