Humans are afraid, all of us, all the time
Mortality's a blade, swinging with no reason, no rhyme
When you're that scared, teeth are that bared
Ready to say anything, do any sin to any man

I weirdly want a Valentino one 😅

I have a Queen Bee weighted plush and I love it. When I start feeling overwhelmed, just drop Bee on my chest while I put on Bob's Burgers and I'm good

It's not Sci-Fi, but I'd also recommend the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Takes place on a planet where Cat 5+ hurricanes sweep across the entire planet every 1 to 2 weeks. So the landscape has trees that fall over to protect themselves and grass that can retract into the rock landscape

The Red Rising series is fantastic. The first book is a little Hunger Games-ish (terrible description, but the easiest way to describe it) but it takes off so quick and hard after that. Epic space battles, and effectively a giant class war since society in it has been put into a caste system

JFC, there was an entire war fought after Europe spent years kissing Hitler's ass and people think trying to do the same with his 21st century counter part will go any better

Me and Treasure Planet. I absolutely adore that movie and I still don't understand how it was a flop

I'm sure the separatists would understand that if they could do math beyond 2+2=4

Don't right wingers tend to idolize Viking history/heritage...which...you know...is Scandinavian?

She's so scared of the separatists in this province that all she can do is try to redirect them to anyone but herself. They've slipped her leash and all she can do is try to point them in any direction that isn't her
January 29, 2026 at 7:14 PM
She knows that if she does she'll get punted in the next election as no MLA is going to vote for separatism. So she's going to waste millions of dollars on a referendum that has all but already been decided by the Forever Canadian petition

Albertan here and Smith is terrified of the separatist monster she has created. She thought she could handle them and use them as a weapon against Ottawa. Only now that they've slipped her leash, she's scared shitless of them. That's why she won't hold a legislature vote

My heart bleeds for the new gestapo...it really really does. Hell, if I ever go down to the states again, it just might from them shooting me
January 29, 2026 at 4:42 PM
Honestly, I think she thought she could handle the separatists and use them as a weapon against Trudeau and now Carney. But they’ve now slipped her leash and she’s terrified of them

100%. If they hate Canada so much that they want to leave, then they can leave, but they don't get to drag the other 85% of us with them, not to mention the land

Yup, what I heard was 30% are "in favor" of leaving, but only half of those are serious. The other half just want to use separation to send a "message" to Ottawa
January 28, 2026 at 11:14 PM
Except it's not going to happen. Separatist at BEST have 30% of the population, and half of those only want to use separation to make a point to Ottawa, and not actually leave. So you're looking at 15% of the province being serious in leaving

Incredibly frustrating that Smith won't hold a legislature vote on the Forever Canadian petition. She's scared of the separatist monster she created and she knows that 0 MP's will for for separation, so she's going to waste money on a stupid referendum that will go no where
January 28, 2026 at 11:03 PM
It's so frustrating knowing that Smith could end all the separatist talk by holding a legislature vote of the Forever Canadian petition, but she's too scared for her own political future to do so since she knows no MP is going to vote to separate
