We have a new commander of Military Sealift Command - Rear Admiral Benjamin Nicholson, a graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy.
What we still lack at MSC, among the senior leadership, is anyone who has sailed as a master or chief engineer for MSC.

Received a report of a fire on board the Hong Kong-flagged containerships Laust Maersk of Maersk Lines after departing Charleston for Cartagena, Columbia. The report is of a minor fire in the containers up forward. The ship has anchored off Charleston with plans to bring the ship back into the port.
