There seems to be this reductionist ideology that things happening in the test tube will surely translate to something in the cell. The source of much confusion lately.

I think a way has already been found that does not involve cows at all.

to the best of my knowledge, this is the first paper identifying lipid raft as pseudoscience and explanation for why.
November 15, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Absolutely. It has become apparent that we live in an era dominated by pseudoscience. Just finished a manuscript with Madhur Mangalam where we analyze the lipid raft theory, oxidative stress as perpetual disease narrative/detox theory, and free energy principle in brain science: all pseudo.

I wrote a matters arising paper to a phase separation claim:

Kervin, T.A. No phases? No phase separation. Zenodo (2025). doi.org/10.5281/zeno...

It falls on deaf ears. Thanks for speaking out against this pseudoscience.
No phases? No phase separation

Nice. Is there a role for ORCiD?
November 13, 2025 at 7:39 PM
Do you know how it compares to Codex?

However, I would not typically be invited to contribute to this or other perspective journals like Curr. Opin. Struct. Biol. because I am a mere PhD student. So what do I do with all these (important!) opinions? On Zenodo they get very little attention. Lend me your wisdom Richard

I posted my opinions/reviews on Zenodo:

the model I develop contradicts both Shelby et al and Mayor et al in this recent Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology special issue: cshperspectives.cshlp.org/site/misc/th...

Nay! You speak fantasies—proteins and lipids are subjects of the same amphiphilic empire

These are opinion articles. If they were research articles I could post them on arxiv or biorxiv. In any case thanks
