The sun rises in the east and Fetterman's vote IS an endorsement of the CR. That is what voting for something means. Why do we keep getting useless Senators like Fetterman, Sinema, and - the king of uselessness - Manchin? The U.S. is an idiocracy; the infection's spread to the Democrats too.

I will say back: when things get really bad in Trump's second term, i.e., even worse than in his 1st term, your belief in the status quo will look foolishly misguided. Time will tell.

What exactly is preventing Trump from purging the military of anyone who will resist his unconstitutional exercise of power, and replacing them with his loyal minions? Has no one been paying attention to their Project 2025 playbook?

That is the thing: MAGA has not only corrupted the courts, but also to a great degree, law enforcement AND the military. I might wish that our institutions would resist the onset of an authoritarian oligarchy, but current evidence doesn't support that expectation.

They just missed a couple of words in their headline. It should be: "Many Americans don't have a mind." It is, after all, the jaw-dropping stupidity of a majority of American voters that have brought us to this point.

Considering any objective impact on the world, whether or not Hunter served a prison sentence is of no consequence. The entire sordid affair just illustrates how the GOP manipulates the system and public opinion via disinformation to erode democratic norms, and then the Dems respond. Depressing!

I'd like to point out that starting with "This is dumb." is fundamentally repetitious and sort of redundant when referring to *anything* Trump says, or does. Perhaps it's time for a character-sparing short hand notation for that phrase. 😏
