Q: Are there benefits to starting #hormonetherapy before #menopause onset?
A: No. There is no data to support the use of HT in #perimenopause. Although #hormonetherapy can be used for symptom management in perimenopause, it is not a high-enough dose to prevent pregnancy or to control heavy bleeding.

Question: Should hormone therapy be used for weight loss?

No. Hormone therapy has favorable effects on body composition but typically does not result in weight loss. See more in second image.

Does #hormonetherapy prevent bone loss and protect against fracture risk?

Yes. HT is US-government approved for prevention of #boneloss and can be used for this purpose in appropriate candidates who do not have contraindications.
