He was followed by his very floofy brother Loki. And while I didn't manage to get a photo, this morning I spotted Wotan sharing the cushion with ginger Dad, Biscuit. /4

Wotan was first to check it out.

And of course, it's sheer coincidence that all of them prefer to sit on the corner where there's a piece of nice soft fluffy velour under their derrieres! /3

Decided our cats needed a new cat bed for the hallway window, one of their favourite perches. So I went with a removal cover (which is washable) over a basic inner cushion.
So far, after three days all three boy cats have been up there but neither of the girls. 1/

I love needlework, especially hand sewing. This is the patchwork summer cover I made for my bed:

Aaron, Jeff's twin brother, lived past 20. Loved shredded paper - would happily traipse around the apartment for ages with his head through the handles of a carrier bag, trailer the main part of the bag behind like a cloak! A dear sweet idiot cat - who figured out how to open doors, unlike Jeff.

The late great Jeff Cat (Jeffery if being formal). He passed away suddenly while I was at work one day about 20 years ago. Still miss this half of 'the tabby and white twin terrorists', as I name him and his twin brother Aaron. Jeff was very much the 'smart as a tack' one.

Five cat household, so no surprise what I found at the bottom of the stairs yesterday. Just no clues as to which cat as they were all interested in it.

Lunchtime today my partner spotted ginger Biscuit with a live mouse, who then spent an hour chasing the poor beastie! Culprit identified.

First butterfly I've seen so far this year - and it's a Peacock, my favourite species.

Woke up to a clear but cloudy start. Half an hour later, mist rolled in off the sea. Only lasted about an hour but was very pretty and atmospheric while it lasted.

Took some paperwork up to the bedroom to file away, and thought "Why is the bedspread all rucked up and lumpy?" Peeled it back to reveal - Loki the floofy!

Finished a knitting project today - hat with deep purple ribs and top section, lilac cable in the middle section.

Apparently this little grey cap is the best cat toy ever! Or so says Biscuit, so named because he is a complete and utter ginger nut,

While we didn't find anything in the charity shops this morning, I did visit my favourite needlecraft shop and bought two lots of canvas to keep me going for the year. One lot of tapestry canvas and a half metre of 22 point hardanger for making carpets and rugs for the dolls house we're making.

Today is my partner's birthday. (But not saying which one....)

So Happy Birthday to my soulmate Phillip Brinkley.

Photos taken this morning. Yes, I know it looks like a light dusting of snow - it's actually a very very hard hoar frost. And Loki the beautiful, of course!
