"White inmates benefited the most from efforts to reduce Ontario jail populations during the COVID-19 pandemic[...] Indigenous, Black and non-Black racialized people remained incarcerated at higher rates and spent more days in custody than white people."

It's been 21 years since my art was in a group exhibit (or any exhibit, really!). Very grateful for this opportunity and the joyful, collaborative process that got me here 🙌 Reception is tonight.

Whenever I bring my grief & broken heart to the woods, she always gives me gifts in return. This morning it was 2 marbles 🔵

My friend brought me treats from the independent bakery she works at, and the box they came in had me immediately thinking #risograph. This would be such a fun riso design! 🍩

I'm very excited to have 3 works included in this group exhibit, opening Thursday! Grateful to be a member of both Niagara Artists Centre and Willow Arts Community, spaces that have invited me in to creativity as a playful, collective experience, rather than an isolated pursuit of perfection.

Older Mennonite churches usually don't have gender neutral bathrooms, so I just use the one with the best vibes✨️

Recommended reading for those interested in learning what was going on in kkkanada at this time. The klan had a powerful influence in the 1920s & 1930s Conservative party, particularly in Saskatchewan, which is where my maternal grandparents grew up.

Tomorrow I'm leading a discussion about migrant justice at a local Mennonite church, so I drafted a short discussion guide for congregants to take home. Get in touch if you'd like the file for your own congregation! Graphic from Mennonite Action.

This month I've been focusing on writing and neglecting my visual practice, but tonight I made some time to create a piece with scraps from my physical desktop. Felt good to get glue on my fingers again!

Every year #GlobalDrinkWineDay happens during #BlackHistoryMonth, yet too often the African and Caribbean migrant workers who sustain the global wine industry are totally ignored & exploited.

Another world is possible and migrants are organizing to make it reality!
