They were strange days—curious dream-like days—and they followed each other silently, like shadows over grain fields. Edith Allonby, The Fulfilment, 1905.

A warm welcome to my new followers! I post images of weird, supernatural, ghostly and science fiction books from Victorian times to the early 20th century. If it’s strange, it’s probably on one of my shelves.
The Oz factor. One of the most insightful ufo phenomenon articles of the early eighties. Four decades later, it still is a cornerstone of intellectual, deep thought ufology. Written by British ufologist Jenny Randles.

If you want to deeply study the ufo phenomenon and its interaction with humanity, this is one of the recommended source works (from my library).

Lourdes and Fatima, two of the most significant non-human contact events ever. Yet the American hamburger-ufo contingent keeps on babbling about disclosure, where it has already taken place.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries an unprecedented international effort was initiated to chart and study non-human intelligences and the altered states of consciousness by which such contacts regularly occurred. Thousands upon thousands of reports were produced.

#Geekalert

The cosmos works in mysterious ways. Last week someone drew my attention to the astral messages of H.C. Randall-Stevens. His books from the 1920s are extremely rare. I already had one but today found this, The Chronicles of Osiris, first edition, 1926. About Atlantis and Lemuria.

Irish ghost hunter Elliott O'Donnell was a complicated person, but he surely wrote a lot about ghostly and paranormal phenomena. A selection from my collection of his very rich and at times very, very disturbing oeuvre.

“Eventually a temple will be discovered underground in the rear of the Sphinx, which connects with other chambers and a great temple or grand chamber under the Great Pyramid.”
I once held a copy of that book (Atlantis to the Latter Days) in my hands. I have his older title (1927) in my library:

This book by baroness Adelma von Vey arrived today. Published in 1890, it talks about the ‘spheres between the earth and the Sun’ and about “many humanoid species on the different worlds that I journey by”. This last detail from a seance sitting in 1871.

There is nothing remotely Elysian about the Phlegræan Fields; nothing sylvan, nothing green. The Fields, which lie on the north shore of the Bay of Naples, are part of the caldera of a volcano that is the twin of Vesuvius, the destroyer of Pompeii, a few miles to the east. The volcano is still active, but, today, its most obvious feature is this barren, rubble-strewn plateau. Fire bursts from the rocks in places, and clouds of sulphurous gas snake out of vents that lead up from deep underground.

Books migrate in my bookcases. When other items arrive they seek new spots. Like growth rings of a tree or sedimentary layers in soil. Two snapshots of my shelves to show that evolutionary progress.
