I'm all for illiberal methods in activism, however. But you're going to get nowhere in convincing a neighbor that way. Changing minds and punching fascists can both happen.

I'd argue another reason we've got to this point is perceived incivility, real or not. Obviously, no one is having civil discourse on social media. I mean irl conversations with our right-wing neighbors. Real conversations.

What I mean is that it would be healthier for society if people interacted with each other on less hostile, extreme vs. extreme terms. You can hold radical beliefs while being a normal, grounded person in conversation. How do we encourage it?

Like Hank said, truth doesn't really matter in the context of the social problems we face right now. It's whatever narrative wins. LLMs can help us create narratives grounded in more truth than not imo.
