Honestly seconding this. I hate reading fanfic because I burn out trying to find anything I like and then I'm sick of it. Wrote my own for a while and now I'm happy as a clam in my little RP server playing barbies with the homies. It's fulfilling.

This is also true for making jokes and capturing tone. Alt text shouldn't be sterile! Use it to capture the feeling of the piece and the emotion in the piece whenever possible! Have fun with it!
