Not to mention, it doesn't help when people need their opinion to be objective fact and are willing to argue to "make" it happen. Like all the ship bashing to bolster another ship, instead of just.. saying why you like whatever. Obviously all critique is subjective but, it gets taken too far often.

I think what's sad is some of the folks I spoke to, once they calmed down and got out of their negative headspace, we actually agreed on a lot of things we would've liked to see happen in S2. I think some folks just get mad about one thing then immediately put blinders on.

Maybe she thought the (consensual) gun hit later for their plan canceled it out, like PEMDAS.

Yeah I love them and I'm still kinda surprised there was never a scene of remorse from Cait that wasn't just in body language/etc. Obviously her immediately turning on Ambessa the second she could help Vi was a good start to rebuild trust, but, they needed more time for a LOT of things this season

I think my favorite exchange was when someone I know who loves League was like "they assassinated the characters, the ending totally went against the lore" like. League is a PvP game not meant to end ever, and Arcane is a show with a finite runtime... what did you expect the writers to do here??

That said I was REALLY invested in Ekko and Jinx this season (when last season I was honestly more interested in just Ekko as a character) so those two definitely cooked.

That's valid! They've definitely got a really messy relationship S2, I think it just didn't bother me because given patterns we've seen with them as individuals, I totally bought that their bond would survive what it did and take less to rekindle than it maybe should, even if there was a lot unsaid

I mean I recently had someone imply that my opinion on S2 (specifically me not hating it) is less valid because "the League community are the people who carried this show on their back for years" so at this point anything is possible

I'd say this is a way more reasonable opinion to bring to the table than the people currently caps locking/throwing tables at each other over the S2 ship debate lol. Like I don't agree, but everyone is gonna have characters/dynamics in media speak to them differently. The hate both ways is silly tbh

But how else can they prove their opinion (of their fave ship being the best) is objective fact without making a weird competition out of it??

I don't even have a Twitter and barely get on here, but I had people in my DM's who asked me my opinion only to thrash S2 and/or CaitVi before I'd even finished my thought lmao. I don't even think S2 was perfect or anything, but it's like they can't stand other people enjoying it when they can't.

If I read one more comment like "their ship just wasn't good" from people that happily lose their shit over toxic or plain by-the-book ships we've seen in a hundred different media, my neurons are gonna start dying

Yeah, I'm here waiting to chat about how the writing for S2 could've been as tight as S1 if things were given more room to breathe, but when 95% of the complaints are about CaitVi (and none even really point out writing mistakes, just say it's trash) you start to wonder where people's heads are at..

Tbh I quit caring what any fans said about what we "should" like after someone got mad at me just for enjoying S2 and implied only League fans can "get why it's actually bad" lol.
