Ooooh, the drama!

'Seizing belongings' means taking their valuable items to sell & pay for asylum support. How many valuable items do asylum seekers carry with them, esp on a dinghy.
It wont raise any money, so it wont be enacted.

But, I don't know if any wealthy asylum seekers arrive by dinghy - do they?

When F'rage & co turned away from other EU members, waving their pathetic little flags - I could have died with shame!
F'rage is shameless.

I don't understand why they talk about 'rebellions' as if its some kind of mega drama - MPs rebel - the vote fails - the problem has gone!
Isn't that the aim?

I'd really love to see how opposition party leaders would fix things tho, a fix that everyone likes, inc the media!
November 18, 2025 at 1:47 PM
Is that policy specifically directed at asylum seekers arriving on a dinghy? Or, are you just guessing those are the only seekers of asylum?

Because, I expect it would cost more to find valuables, on dinghy travellers, than the govt would get back. Surely?

Was your post about Farage or Starmer - because the commenters interpreted is as an attack on the current PM, and they're joyfully cackling with pleasure & extreme anticipation

Its odd that thru summer I didnt want to eat any meat, now its bloody freezing & I'm thinking about meaty stews & casseroles.

Strange but true.

Cogden beach area? I don't get there very often, but its got a lovely selection of wildflowers - and butterflies.

Lucky you!

How much valuable jewelery are asylum seekers travelling with - because I can't imagine its anything of great monetary value.
I also understand this isnt an actual govt policy, but an initiative/proposal.

But its got 'the left' frothing at the mouth, they'll appreciate a cause for their rage

MTGreen will never be forgiven for claiming women in the UK get raped by immigrants, daily!
But, maybe its a little fantasy she has.....
November 17, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Thats something I thought decades ago - that 'Americans' are such frightened people.

That's why they keep blasting everyone with their guns, rather than speak to them, or asking strangers if they need help.
(Obviously not all Americans)

Safe migration is essential - didnt the Tories shut down all our safe routes, to the UK?

It was a deliberate move to build up the 'crisis' of immigration - with the 'illegal' boat landings.

I expect the only critics are on the extreme right, and extreme left of politics. Surprised?

And how will you fund this council housing build, and where will you build the houses?
November 17, 2025 at 9:12 AM
Right whingers, because thats what they are - craggy, miserable old men who decided they should rule our country.

I bet they reek of decay

Thank you for letting us know - we respect your opinion, but we'd like to remind you that your vote is a private & personal matter. Plus, we don't expect any dramatic changes to FPTP this year, or even next year.

Wishing you eternal peace & joy

Prepare for the loud grumbles of people who want restoration completed within a year - altho, our UK right whingers were pussy cats, compared to Trump & co.

And, I don't see a problem with disability claimants studying or having a penalty-free work trial - IF THEY WANT TO, esp young people. And, Parliament is working as it should, holding the PMs feet to the fire, so the future isn't as bleak as you claim.
November 16, 2025 at 3:24 PM
I claim PIP, but don't expect to keep receiving it - we should expect to have our disability claims re-assessed. Altho, sickness benefits don't support people who have a long term illness - but I'm sure a govt can seek the right balance.

Not sure the damage was the issue, did they think the UK govt (any UK govt) could ignore that breach of security?

I suppose its a lesson learned, for security services, but the 'invaders' knew the govt response would be severe, right?
November 16, 2025 at 11:52 AM
Oh dear, and you expected SO much more!

Your expectations need adjusting, most of us knew it would be a long journey; after the Tories took a chainsaw to the things we depended on.
