What if a small but significant number of Republicans began to re-register as say, independent or no party affiliation, in key districts and or states in advance of mid terms? It would definitely get the attention of congressional reps.

The story of DEI is much richer than most realize. As we watch MAGA push an overly simplified view of complex initiatives that seek to promote a healthier society for all, be reminded that it is much easier to tear down institutions than to build them up. This may be the tragic legacy of Trumpism!
What has DEI — diversity, equity and inclusion — done for U.S. workers and employers?
President Trump has painted a bullseye on diversity, equity and inclusion. But what exactly is DEI, and what has it achieved?

paulkrugman.substack.com/p/in-praise-... Paul Krugman nails it. Time for Cali to stand up to the incoming DC and let the nation know where it would be without us. And to my fellow Californians who voted Trump and GOP shame on you!

A must read and warning to us all. I stand with Anne Telnaes and applaud her courage. May your commentary and art continue to flow. Thank you @gilduran.bsky.social for sharing her piece. I’ve already cancelled my Wapo subscription. What is our next step?
Anne Telnaes, Pulitzer-winning editorial cartoonist for the Washington Post, has resigned.

The paper censored a cartoon that criticized billionaires.

Democracy dies in broad daylight, too.

This is the fact Americans don’t seem to understand. It’s the essential truth that propels our governance. We allow the erosion of a basic social safety net, infrastructure support, civil rights, and investment in education to ensure the security of ultra wealthy and corporations.
This is one (only one) aspect of predatory Capitalism. It talks about hating Socialism, but has developed its own form of Corporate Socialism to increase the wealth of corporate owners. You don't have to shop at Walmart to contribute to their profits, your taxes do that for you.

A must read! The “deep state” is much less federal and much more private than we realize. The government contractor class benefiting from taxpayer funded employees and abundant funding. The separation between public and private really doesn’t exist. Read and be wiser!
Musk and Ramaswamy, meet the real deep state
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will soon learn that dissolving the deep state is more complex than it might seem.

Congressional reps value the right to purchase/own guns more than they value the lives of children in classrooms each day. Our lawmakers are bought and paid for by NRA and a gun loving, violent culture. Other countries have dealt with this. We could but, instead, we just keep counting bodies.
The father of Natalie Rupnow, the Wisconsin shooter is likely to be charged. He bought her a handgun for her 14th birthday last year. Her entire Tumblr was filled with posts idolizing mass shooters before and after she got a gun.
