Really thought-provoking read. It’s worrying when assessment design starts to steer us away from good teaching. The Photo Card task seems to reward quantity over quality, which feels like a step backwards. Thanks for raising this so clearly. #MFLBluesky #GCSELanguages

This is a great idea, thanks for sharing! I already dedicate 4–5 minutes each lesson to phonics with activities but I really like the idea of using adapted reading aloud questions to build students’ confidence with the format of the new exam. Definitely something I’ll try out with my Year 10s

Congrats on the launch of the 2025 #EYFOLNE Anthology! 🎉 We were gutted to miss out this year, but loved working with our prep and Senior students on amazing entries in Pashto, Spanish & Russian. Already excited for next year! 🌍📚

One of my favourite strategies too, especially the emphasis on listening as the path to vocabulary acquisition, not just the outcome. I’ve seen real impact when students meet new words first through listening. The shift from reading-first to listening-first takes time, but it’s so worth it!
