Very well researched book, but left a bit surprised about how much of some parts were touched on and others barely at all. I come out feeling more generally knowledgeable 👍
The book Play it Loud: An epic history of the style, sound, and revolution of the electric guitar. By brad tolinski & alan di perna. It is sitting on a bed with sharks on the sheets. Because sharks are delightful.

Took a breaky from art to bake this weekend. Might be struggling with some burnout, I don't rly know! I also made some vanilla chai cookies and a peach crisp but they didn't look super social media "worthy." Tasted damn delicious though

Today's first movie was The Loveless. And while the plot was pretty meh to me, I did get to stare at a young Willem Dafoe be eyecandy for the entire film. And I'm stealing screenshots for Max tbh. Its not a complete loss.

The original artist wants to be tagged in this little challenge but this is a WIP and I am also not that brave. I am, however, having a riot trying to work out the motions required to get this fuckass to spell his name out.

It begins with them standing normally, making an L shape on their forehead with their hand very annoyedly. The i is currently missing, but then it is him dropped to the floor in a curl, and pushing his way into multiple hand stands of various body contortion, to drop to all fours and then sit on the floor. The poses together make shapes similar to the letters of his name: Lightning.

There was genuinely no better way to express how laughable the height difference is between Xander and Max is, and they hang around each other frequently. Now, is Max too short or is Xander too tall? 🤭 (Max isn't gonna be in the final image for this i just NEEDED to doodle)

Trying to pick 4 of my favorites from our trip & hike was really hard. I don't think there's a good way to express a sense of scale of how BIG these are or how far up we were from it all, but if anyone is interested this is Blue Pool, Blue River area of Oregon off the Mckenzie 😊

The photo is taken from 40ft or more above the pool itself, but the water is so crystalline blue and clear it looks like it could be taken from it's side. The water appears visually to be 5ft deep, but is actually 30ft. Near the top of the photo is the shoreline at the pool level, where a pair of people can be seen sitting on a log. They are microscopic in scale of the entire image. Log bridge over the creek running adjacent to the Mckenzie River, possibly Smith Creek? It is showing signs of age, with the edges of the logs being quite rotted. A view of the McKenzie river from above on the hiking trail. This area has a lot of flowing water and many, enormous moss covered rocks in the water. They seemed quite large even at a distance, which suggests how huge they are when you are so high up from the river. A photo taken of the grey-blue sky, but with the tall douglas fir trees covering the skyscape in various hues of green.

Aside from the obvious, my other favorite is a maned wolf, which isn't a wolf at all. They are all by themselves on the species tree :( But like. This is an animal that was made in photoshop. Its beautiful.
