That’s some serious “magic beans” logic.

EJ, you aren’t wrong. But that fact doesn’t help THESE H1B workers or their families right now. I wish you could speak directly to these people we know personally and ask them what they need. Talking about how things should be doesn’t protect these 6 families now.

EJ, two things can be true at the same time. These particular employees are not being exploited. And they are terrified of being deported and unable to have anywhere to go. Let’s celebrate the people like my spouse who are doing good. Not lump them together with people trying to exploit them.

Fair enough. But my spouse is not responsible for those decisions. He is responsible for the H1B visa employees who report to him. Let’s not conflate those who are trying to help with those who are trying to harm.

Imagine what would happen if Repugs grew spines and started working to reclaim some respect. That would be powerful. I’m so tired of their craven BS.

In my experience, with salaried H1B visa employees (who also receive the same benefits as citizen employees), the company hires them because they are more qualified and skilled than American candidates. Not everyone is out to exploit their workers.

If these particular workers were exploited, they wouldn’t be salaried with benefits and a boss willing call everyone he knows on a Saturday to go to the mattresses for them. These are human beings with feelings and families. He can’t change the system, but he is willing to fight for them.

This will directly impact 6 of my spouse’s workers. There are not qualified Americans to do these jobs. This hurts business, it hurts our country, and it hurts people with families.
