I think that may be the important piece, because I have serious concerns about how the discourse around AI has shaped our interactions with students.

I do though have a very hard time spending the usual amount of time and energy marking a paper by an LLM. It feels very rotten to spend more time marking something than was spent creating it. I haven't yet figured out how to thread that needle.

I always say "the sights" and leave it at that.

It also breaks the "contract" of the syllabus, in my books. It's just bad faith.
