Today I vetoed a controversial immigration bill that puts our city’s legal standing, public safety, public health, and economy in jeopardy. This bill duplicates state and federal laws that we are already following, and it puts us at risk of costly lawsuits. (2/2)

Creativity, collaboration, commitment, and compassion. Those are qualities we must keep in our hearts and minds as we make housing more affordable for ALL our neighbors. I was thrilled to join the Jacksonville Housing Authority this morning to break ground on 5 affordable homes in Durkeeville. (1/2)

I love the smell of a new poll in the morning! Especially one showing Mayor Deegan near 62% approval. All gas no brakes for the next two years as we keep getting things done for Duval.

The theme for National Public Works Week 2025 is “People, Purpose, Presence.” I am so proud that our COJ Public Works team exemplifies all of those things and more, not only this week, but year-round. It was my pleasure to thank them in person for a job well done.

I’m heartbroken to see the tragedy unfolding at FSU today. As an alum who also had a child at Florida State, my heart goes out to the families and students terrorized by this senseless act of violence. I’m continuing to monitor the news out of Tallahassee and my prayers are with everyone there.

60 years on the job! What an impact.
It was an honor to present a key to the city to Dr. Milt Russos. He started what is now known as the FSCJ Artist Series Broadway in Jacksonville nearly 60 years ago. In doing so, he single-handedly elevated the state of arts and culture in our city. Thank you and congratulations!
