The One Where None of My Dogs Would Save My Life
The yard crew comes every other Monday to mow, blow leaves, trim bushes, etc. whatever needs done. These days it's mainly blowing leaves/pine straw and cutting back our plants/trees, but this morning I've been busy, and I have a dentist appointment at 11:00, and I forgot they were coming. About 9:00 am I jumped in the shower while the dogs were asleep on the couch.

Little Baby Jesus and the whole wide universe and his mother all love Jackson immensely, but his backhand is atrocious.

If you've ever considered taking college classes, going back to college, going to grad school or a trade program, or even getting your GED, now 👏 is 👏the 👏time 👏 babes! The future of higher education in the United States is unclear and make no mistake that is by design. A cute, little Google search is all you need to know that the majority of people with college degrees vote for equity, kindness, and diversity in representation and culture.

Dearest Friends, For my 44th birthday I had an arthritic flare-up so my rheumatologist gave me a pack of steroids which I've been on for a week now. It's the easiest way to prevent the flare-up from advancing my spinal arthritis (auto-immune disease, for those of you who are new here)…
Well Shit
Dearest Friends, For my 44th birthday I had an arthritic flare-up so my rheumatologist gave me a pack of steroids which I've been on for a week now. It's the easiest way to prevent the flare-up from advancing my spinal arthritis (auto-immune disease, for those of you who are new here) along with my weekly maintenance injections. The steroids stop the pain/mobility issues as well as prevent the arthritis from progressing, which can…

Tucker, GA -- The dynamic pickleball team of Melissa and Jerimiah Goodnight (*The Slice Girls) were totally and completely dominated both on and off the court this week by the Smash Sisters, **Merriam and Lucille. Prior to the first match the Slice Girls, who were running late due to Melissa "not really feeling pickleballey," were unable to get their normal 20 minutes of practice instead getting there just in time to exchange a bit of pre-match banter (a skill the Slice Girls have not yet mastered) and before the foursome took the court the score was already one-sided.

I've always been frustrated with the rage spewed at me and others like me who some call "Bleeding-heart Liberals." They insist people who live and vote and protest like me lack love for our nation. Meanwhile, white men with flags and AR-15s strapped to their chests, who have no qualms harming people for "love of country" are called "Patriots." As if a flag on your chest makes you inherently worthy of loving this nation.

We traced some old haunts last night. Drank beer, ate pizza, and made out on campus like the old days. There’s a surplus of memories in the #Ozarks and it’s always bittersweet.

I wish y’all the good kinda memories this week wherever, and with whomever, you find yourself.

March Reads

So far I’ve read “My Year of Rest and Relaxation” and it 👏🏻was👏🏻wild. I also started Kiley Reid’s “Come and Get It.” Honey! So good. And I finished my review of “The Tree Doctor” out March 19th.

Whew. I’m crushing on lady writers this spring and I’m quite content. Happy reading! 💐 👯‍♀️

Winnie and I are going back to the stacks this year, reading all the books we bought but couldn’t read over the last couple of years. We were too busy in our MFA. Then of course, there was all the napping.

It was mostly napping.
