yup - Tau are very much "clean sci-fi" in look, with smooth lines and everything is manufactured but tidy. It's an interestingly different look and feel for them, that does contrast heavily with basically everyone else - no baroque spikes or organic shapes, just actual understood tech!

when the post-nut clarity so good you create a new branch of physics to transition to a whole new level of civilisation!

that rack(?) type device in the first picture is *lovely*!

I hadn't even considered that! Yeah, that's going to be a whole mess of trying to kinda-sorta map not-super-well-defined niche terms that likely have all sorts of connotations into the same but in another language isn't going to be tidy

I suspect there's also a heavy trend of "well, this is how the scene is around me, so I'm going to assume that's the standard", when the mixture of various kinks and preferences can be *super* localised, and a few cities over it's all different, then go US to UK and it's even more distinct!

that's not hazing, that's training!

I need to write to mine - he's a bit of a floppy left-ish backbencher with a shrinking majority, so might succumb to pressure ("how many GLBT+ people are in your constituency, and how many are now not voting for you, and telling their friends not to vote for you?")

basically, yeah. They seem to even be keeping the "look" of the movies as much as possible, with as little invention or novelty as possible, just "hey, you liked this thing, we made it again, but longer, please give us money"
November 14, 2025 at 5:51 AM
not quite - it's also, like, 4 times as long or something! Instead of a single two-and-a-half hour movie, it's going to be 8 hours long or something. So expect a LOT of extra details and fiddling around and stuff that's not really adding anything useful

if there's a need to mark distinct break-points, you can have them, but it's short enough they're not required, especially if it's one continual narrative without breaks/pauses/skips

tbf, there were My Little Pony cards, so stereotypically female-aimed media hasn't been a limitation before!

he only won his seat by, like, 500 votes, in a *MASSIVE* labour wave year. So, yeah, somewhat unimpressive as a starting point!

cute hair!

they used to be written up into magazines, pre-Internet (that's what Record of Lodoss War started as!)

online puritanism is toxic, stupid and harmful. Trying to promote such silly policies is one of the many reasons Labour is not a viable party to vote for (as well as the transphobia and the inability to engage with the EU) - you had your chance, and you blew it, sorry.

it seems to be a recurrent fantasy, largely from people that don't seem to actually play games, that having NPCs able to spew endless dialog is somehow a useful/good thing, for reasons that are often vague at best!

nerds that are great at crunchy, technical stuff aren't that rare, yeah. Nerds that can do that AND are actually good at communicating and dealing with people? That's a much rarer (and valuable!) skillset, and much harder to learn.
