I don't think it was cowardice. It was a political calculation coupled with a commitment to Israel's right to exist. I don't think he should have cut off arms. But our contracts with them allow us to say how the weapons would be used. We should have prohibited their use in Gaza.

I am not really sure what you expect dems to do without any power. Anyway, I agree with you. And, this is not the first time. In 1968 Nixon had an agent, Madame Chennault, urge the president of S. Vietnam to withdraw from the Paris peace talks to hurt the dems in the election. They complied.

We won't get a chance to see and it is too late now. The Palestinians are doomed. No independent state and what land they have in the West Bank will be occupied by th we settlers. Gaza is rubble and will be occupied by Israel.

It was what he felt he could do. A sizable part of the democratic coalition is Jewish. Had he done what fervent Palestinian supporters wanted he would have lost a sizable portion of them. That is not going to change any time soon. I think Harris would have done more.
