It’s not that I don’t want to come home, I do, I miss my husband, but I really don’t want to leave this fruit (and no, I will not be putting any in my bag, it’s so ripe it would turn my whole luggage into some horrifying ferment before I even hit the Elizabeth Line!)

When your dad is trying to advise you on some DIY but types a somewhat insufficient search phrase into Amazon… the key word missing here was ‘hinges’ 😂

SUN! So please enjoy a dahlia looking pretty in it. Still have no idea what I’m doing with this gardening lark but I’m enjoying it immensely!

Morning, before I go off to invoice for my terrible opinions, I’d just like to share that I’ve written some Christmas recommendations for @telegraphnews.bsky.social

Ugh, first Covid test in a while (negative thankfully), but got some sort of croaky voice, energy-sapping bastard bug, which led to yesterday’s wild and crazy birthday night of a can of Siren Mesmerist and half a bottle of red wine with the lasagne I made at the weekend. 🥳😁

If you’re wondering why I’m mad, we are suddenly back in the lads mag era, this is how a new beer is being launched…

Also, ladies, we have been drinking our stout all wrong it transpires, turns out we have to lick the foam off our fingers like a porn movie.

DO NOT TAG HIM OR THE BRAND IN.

The touch ups can wait until morning; I can’t take credit for the lovely riser cladding, my fabulous contractor did that, (so pleased to be shot of the carpet, I hate carpet, a robust runner may happen but that’s it.)

First harvest! Not a huge one of potatoes but we are thrilled nonetheless and the first two tomatoes to ripen are just the start, there are so many I’m going to have to get creative with ferments and other preservation methods.

So… I just had a surprising visitor to the garden!

Not 100% but think it’s a juvenile female sparrow hawk, which is apt because it was after the sparrows, however its prey managed to get away after hiding, stunned in the plants for a bit.

East London is wild man! 😁

Had such a lovely day listening to TMS, repotting indoor and garden plants and tending up my toms, not sure how much more English I could be right now 😁

Freezer and cupboard raid here. Quickly defrosted some bacon-wrapped chipolatas on pressure cook and then air-fried them, pan-fried some cauliflower hash browns and eggs to go with - used up the end of both sauces, good gardening foundation 😁

Sometimes when you’ve been up since silly o’clock working, taking the time to make a really nice lunch is a very worthwhile break to have.

I must commend to you the island of Madeira, what a relaxing holiday we just had in one of the most gorgeous places. Bonus kestrel for your enjoyment.

Hello from holiday! Finally getting round to checking this out. Please enjoy an iridescent lizard until I’m back to posting about beer again!
