Over the past 4–5 years, Facebook has sunset tools (chiefly CrowdTangle) used by researchers and journalists, made data difficult and expensive to get, and iced out academics studying disinformation.

Now, it's shutting down the fact checking on its platform.

They replace Japan, Malta, Switzerland, Ecuador and Mozambique whose two-year terms have come to an end.

PSA: As of Jan. 8 Canadians, Americans, Australians… will need a 10£ electronic travel authorization (ETA) when visiting or transiting through the UK.

Europeans (34 countries) will be required to have an ETA as of April 2.

Researchers are announcing that a 53-year-old man in Germany has been cured of HIV.

Referred to as "the Dusseldorf patient" to protect his privacy, researchers said he is the fifth confirmed case of an HIV cure.

He stopped his HIV medication four years ago.
