It does. And we do too. There's so much more than we know and there are ways to exist that we haven't the ability to conceptualize until we've moved through things we thought we would never survive

I agree. That's why I'm out here doing the work. NT approaches will never work for us. Trying harder and doing more will only ever make us miserable in the end and push us further into burnout. Riding the wave, learning our own brains is the best way to move through a world that wasn't made for us

Sounds like some compassionate honesty might be more helpful than brutality

And sometimes people need a little more help getting there. That's okay. We can practice radical acceptance *and* work to make our lives not so unmanageable cycling through burnout and manic over-productivity

Okay

Didn't say it was easy. Said it was easier. You found something that helps and that's good. I reached a point where none of the maladaptive coping mechanisms i had(alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, self-destruction and avoidance) worked even a little anymore. So I burned my life down and found new ones

Begin the process of lessening the demands you have each day so your brain can calm down enough to function and eventually find creativity and passion again

Talk through *how* to prioritize the things that absolutely have to get done. Audhd people frequently know that things are important, but the ability to know which things are more important first is a huge struggle I want to help you with.

Wow.

That's disgusting and I hate how commonly disabilities are actively used against people

I do really like that part of this platform. It helps my compartment-seeking brain a lot.
April 22, 2025 at 3:13 AM
That's fair. There's always more nuance than 300 characters can hold here. I stayed away from short-form platforms for that reason for years. But I try, because this is where people are

There's always the possibility they have similarly presenting stuff. But if people look at the DSM and fit the diagnostic criteria, and still wonder if they are autistic for years, I'm guessing they are or they are autistic + whatever else is making it more complicated

For years?

We are strong enough to be present in our own suffering.
And through that presence, we learn how to sit with others in theirs. 4/4

we cannot also accept that *this is who we are now*, this is how we must go through the world. That we must find a way to manage because railing against it, finding the people who may or may not be responsible and yelling at them will not change the fact that we have to accept our own suffering.3/4

It feels as though it will give us a sense of control against this terrible thing that we just wish wasn't happening at all or never happened in our past.
Knowing why rarely changes much if we cannot also accept that *this is who we are now*. 2/4
