When my husband and I split the only thing we really argued about property-wise was the original comic I bought from you years ago. He won the argument and I'm still mad about it. You're original and funny as hell and I still whisper "Mannister" when I touch a bannister.

Thank you for coming to my shout into the void. At least I channeled my rage into something creative, and I got to think fondly of my Dad, a generous, funny weirdo who loved folk music, trains, and steam engines who came out of the cold warrior fog in the last years of his life. ❤️

The point to this story is that even as a CHILD I grasped that where other kids knew all about what their parents did I didn't, and the reason I didn't was because it was a matter of national security. Spies could be anywhere or anyone. And we didn't even have the tech we do today!

His actual job was a mystery to me my entire life, until a couple of months before he died from cancer, when he answered all my questions about his work. Which I can't repeat because I am pretty sure he may have told me some things I shouldn't.

As a kid I was only allowed to visit him in the building once, and that was a publicity stunt for the Hubble Telescope, and that visit was carefully mapped. As an adult he showed me around the observatory they were building for his projects. That was it.
