Geek. Gay. Serial hobbyist. Dog and cat dad. Married to an awesome guy. Michigander. Part of the rainbow - this profile is a safe space! Opinions are my own.
Proves again that us Democrats aren't willing to stand up for what we believe in. We have very few levers to pull right now, and the one lever that was actually working was just abandoned. Very disappointed.

What do he have to study? I thought he could look at a kid and diagnose them on sight alone?

One of my all-time favorites. Funny story - the first time I saw it, it was on the Disney channel. Holy editing, Batman! COMPLETELY different movie when you see it unedited.

Desk Set. Classic movie - Katharine Hepburn at her finest! Also has many parallels to what's happening today with AI.

In a world where inclusive places are disappearing, Target could be the one to create a safe space. In the end it might not be the most financially responsible thing to do, but it -IS- the most ethical thing to do. And today that would really mean something.

Why am I saying all of this now? Because there is still time. Target could rebuke the administration and restore its diversity efforts. Target could put pressure on other companies to follow suit. They could increase their support to minority voices, and tell us they have our backs.

and at a moment where marginalized people needed that loyalty the most, when our rights are being trampled and our friends made to disappear without a trace, Target got right on board with the demands of the administration. Trust. Broken.

The hurt is not just because of their recent actions, but because it causes us to consider if that support was ever genuine. You see, the thing about brand loyalty is it works both ways - it's not just a consumer responsibility. The company has to be an active participant in maintaining that loyalty

Those feelings of belonging, trust, and awe that I had for Target have been wiped out. They caved to pressure, said goodbye to their DEI efforts, their support of LGBTQ+, and the work towards increasing diversity in their management. In the blink of an eye, 40+ years of brand loyalty was destroyed.

Myself and my two brothers were even in a Target employee calendar back in the 80s. It's been well over 20 years but I still remember my mom's employee ID, 2640498, because we had to give it to the checker to get her 10% employee discount. I felt at home at Target.

I have sooo many reusable bags, you would think it would trigger my ADHD mind to remember them. NOPE! Even if I put them in my car I still end up walking into the store empty handed.

Omg it's such a staple in my house, I've been lucky so far and am still finding it locally.
