2/2 I put the news out of a possible RN Grebe & was pleased to receive this photo from Dave Stone confirming its identity (by which time I was at work).

1st record of Red-necked Grebe on Bowling Green Marsh.

Could this be the bird @axebirder.bsky.social released on the Axe?

I’ve tried to say hi 👋 to all the runners I pass on the Embankment in London. Mostly get blank looks but there are so many people I guess it might get tiresome.

On yesterday’s running event most runners were very happy to chat & say hi.

I kept a bird list using @btobirds.bsky.social BirdTrack as I ran around the loops. I recorded a satisfying 52 species on my 52km run. Highlights were a calling Firecrest near the cricket pitch & three lovely Goosanders.
