My Kenny (boys named him after South Park Kenny because he liked to sniff lite candles) passed this week. He was a feral kitten we found in NC. He was 18. Post your pets that crossed the rainbow bridge.

My son helped me catch a swarm of bees from the yard of a highly allergic homeowner yesterday. They were in the swarm box on top and are moving into the empty hive below.

Here is a queen cage filled with some worker bees that feed and clean her (💩) through the journey from Georgia. They are called her court or attendants. She is painted with a green paint dot identifying the year she was reared.

Peppers I started in feb, the grassey tray is purple onions, green Japanese onions and my own seeds from last years garlic chives. #gardening #seedstarting

I spotted a flock of bufflehead Eiders on their way up north, heading to their breeding ground around Greenland.
I add used coffee ground sprinkled on top. I only use straw for mulch. Hay has weed seeds in it. My favorite fertilizers are bone meal, blood meal, and liquid fish fertilizer or liquid sea kelp. I have several metal raised beds. I keep buying more. I love them for planting garlic in the fall.
