I totally get you. As independent designer myself I can relate and we can embrace the changes ahead instead of resisting them. Fighting against open-source tech is like fighting windmills. What we really need is solid legislation and regulation to ensure a fair and balanced future.

You’re underestimating small authors' ability to adapt. They’ve always been suppressed by big publishers, but AI lets them release faster, learn new skills, and manage social media for their work. For creative minds, AI offers more opportunities than ever.

You’re right—there’s a lot of bad content right now, making it harder to find good quality. But like the washing machine, this technology isn’t going away. As a society, we need to figure out how to adapt and benefit from it as a society and not just the big corps

I'm no OpenAI fanboy, but let's be clear: they offer a $200 B2B model, which isn’t overly expensive for that market. Meanwhile, the new o1 model is available to Pro users at the usual rate. Adding another service doesn’t seem like an issue to me.

It enables those who struggle with writing to express their ideas, but contracts with publishers can’t cover every author. This risks leaving independent journalists and writers with less visibility.
And we don't replace authors. It is more that authors and the ai will work together the future.

I get that it’s unrelated, but if we want access to the best-written texts, we have to turn to books by authors. Where else can we find such carefully crafted words?

I understand your point but so far no jury anywhere decided that it is illegal and as a society we have to decide if we want ai or not and if we want it we have to feet it the best data.

I think in a lot of places we did already. Whenever a LLM is behaving in a way that we couldn't predict we already don't understand the reason. It will not happen suddenly one day. We will give it more and more rights so it can do its job better and better until we loose the control.

It is alarming for sure. We should ask, if we are ready to give away the place of the fastest developing existence on earth. If the answer is yes then we have to give a system all possibilities to better and optimize itself
