Black Lives Matter. Trans people are who they say. Cis/He. Geek. Polyamorous. Humanist. Imperfect. Baseball (SABR). Star Trek. Music. Animation. Muppets. Fountain pens. "Non-traditional" (read: "old") student. Relentlessly forgetful.

AKA sliver7.
This is… a list, alright.

I'm sure someone on staff is defending this as "a conversation starter" or some such.

I think in their effort to avoid controversy, they lost the plot by focusing only on popularity for some, and convenience of labeling for others.

There are pockets of quirkiness and charm still in minor league and independent baseball and hockey, but even those are getting fewer over time

Asking how your day was, how you're feeling, and if you've eaten anything today.

Right, but I'm not from anywhere within the state of Nebraska. I'm from somewhere else with a major setting tie to the film.

I could never get used to iOS. I've never owned my own iPhone, but using one occasionally always felt awkward, and I've got an iPad that I rarely use for the same reason.

I've had an awful lot of them (going back to the Nexus days -- my first real smartphone was a Nexus 4).

I was tempted to get a Pixel 10 Pro when it launched, but eventually came to the conclusion that it just didn't offer enough more than my Pixel 9 Pro to make the cost worthwhile.

Realistically, they're novelties, and not much more. They're fun. I might even consider picking up a few more of them just to add to my stash of odd formats.

But I don't know that I can see this form factor making too much of a long-term impact, or lasting all that long.

Also, in order to get as much playtime as they have, they run at 33RPM, not 45.

Not that you'd be buying something like this for the audio fidelity, of course.
