*Everything* is more normie than Jodorowsky. Do pencil in ‘Santa Sangre’ for 1989, although I appreciate the project might be purer with one pick per director (and anything would be purer with less Jodorowsky)

It did! It's on the big Pollhalla playlist, between 'Let's Stay Together' and 'Like a Prayer'

I'm glad you gave her a go! I should post more of her stuff - I traditionally post her acapella cover of 'Toxic' whenever that comes up in a poll or a challenge ^^ She also released an 8-bit version of today's pick, which is cute but misses her voice www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDKZ...

Yeah, this is an incredible example of that. You could replace ‘AI’ in that headline with ‘sorcery’ or ‘magic beans’ without making it any dafter
November 12, 2025 at 10:27 AM
Yeah, I think the line issue is that prioritising the single-release-date for the 2020s is a criterion that's just bound to chuck up some anomalies like this (and I know both picks are named explicitly in the rules), so people have to interpret and make judgment calls as well as just pick songs
November 11, 2025 at 6:57 PM
Yeah, although 'Blinding Lights' looks to be on 10 or 11 times more picks than 'Cruel Summer', with similar challenges to the puritans
