This is my neighborhood half-burnt Ginko tree in all its glory. It is particularly special to those who live here because, according to what I’ve heard, it marks the spot where local firefighters were finally able to stop a section of the air raid fires in 1945.

Please join us. Let’s save Jingu Gaien! In cities, trees that have grown over 100 years are precious. The trees of Jingu Gaien, a public space, have survived the war and are a legacy of central Tokyo. Mitsui Fudosan and Itochu have been cutting down hundreds of trees.
