I don’t think our sympathy is finite. Yes, they don’t face the same struggles and can buy a new house. No, they cannot replace the things lost in that house. Even rich people have cherished items and memories.

Everybody thinks that to be real, it has to be dark and brooding and heavy, but you can still have a good storyline with someone who’s basically pure sunshine. Fighting to be good in a corrupt world is a good plot by itself.
