Meggo the Eggo
@megwilliamsnz.bsky.social
Historian/researcher/writer. By day, working on a commissioned oral history of the New Zealand Air Line Pilots’ Association. By night, working on research into the state-led capitalist transformation of Te Rohe Pōtae.
This was just a small sample of what I know to be a much larger group of brilliant researchers interested in histories of Aotearoa capitalism, some of whom couldn’t make it, others who may not have seen the original call for papers at all. Hopefully, there’ll be more events like these in the future!

@hannahforsyth.bsky.social has written a great piece on her Substack about the workshop: hannahforsyth.substack.com/p/capitalism...
Capitalism and Social Reproduction in the colonisation of Aotearoa
This week I FIFO'd to Auckland. It was amazing.

The intention was to bring together a group of researchers interested in helping to grow a sub-field of NZ history that historicises and problematises capitalism. Equivalent fields have emerged in the US, the UK, and Australia, but there’s huge potential for something similar here in Aotearoa.
