I work in theatre, grew up on Vancouver Island, moved to Edmonton, and am in a polycule. What more is there to know?
I am often struck by just how much I want to talk with people and connect after seeing a piece of theatre. That there is a certain infectious quality, especially if it was a piece I enjoyed.
I am also regularly amused by how infrequently there is a good time or space to do so following a show.

There's something cool about working an event that allows school-aged children to see neat art.
They're so excitable and enthusiastic.

This was posted at one of my job sites. I kinda love it. It really encapsulates my feelings on perspective in the arts.

What we do is important, integral to humanity even, but the stakes for what we do are basement-low and things like safety and kindness must come first for the sake of the souls who pour themselves into the beauty and truth of art in hopes of touching another soul enough to make them feel something.

Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli have created so much beautiful art about the environment and our human relationship to ecosystems.

It’s saddening to see people dismiss this work into merely a “style of art” and use AI, something with a profound negative effect on the planet, to “recreate” it.
