I don’t know how to fix existing footnotes post-export but is it worth recreating the footnotes (copying & pasting existing text but inserting new footnotes)? In the menu at the top of Word click Insert & then Footnote (you can then choose format). They should update chronologically as you add them.

Mango can be good but best to go when new stock arrives (and bring a bunch of style and size options to the change room)
