I also went on a field trip there in fourth grade! Part of a whole unit on Asian immigration to CA.

I think you posted about these scones before, and I made them and then immediately bought the Once Upon a Tart cookbook-- they are fabulous, and I regret that I was unaware of the bakery before it closed.

Abigail has been trying to limit her bsky use, but did in fact inform me that I had to tell "our #1 fan" about taskmaster NZ 😂

Honestly, I loved season 1 but I think most people agree that season 2 is where NZ really finds its footing, so would recommend starting there :)

Josh, if you haven't seen season 2 of Taskmaster NZ YOU MUST.

There is also one metro driver who my friend heard late at night announce, "Now arriving, LAWN FAWNT PLAZA, HON HON HON!" and my dream has been to encounter them someday.

Queen's Thief!! Re-read the series last year when I realized that there were several more recent books that I had missed and man, those really hold up.

Her recent stuff on Dropout (esp the "Earnest-est" episode on this season of game changer) really convinced me of this too.

So she reported them to the city, resulting in a stop work order. She then proceeded to call in violations every time they attempted to begin work again for the rest of the year. I'm pretty sure this means she is a super-extra lawyer now. Or that the bar was experimenting with a hands-on approach.

My wife passed what I consider the extra bar exam-- she was taking it at home in 2020 and midway through the first day she had to use her break to go ask some construction workers to be less loud. When they were rude to her, she went home and found out that the construction was not permitted.

Interesting! This had never occured to me as something I could do at home, for some reason. Where did you learn?

This bad boy: www.decathlon.com/products/hik.... I love (a) the laptop zipper on the side (b) that I can unzip the whole thing from the side to more easily get things from the bottom and (c) that I don't feel like a high schooler while wearing it.

We did this when we had to move cross-country during Covid and then didn’t have to buy toilet paper again for more than two years!
