A truly unhinged rant about men leading wives and ignoring your kids. This is just the first part. 8 years ago we were in a a MISERABLE marriage. Our house wasn’t a HOME, it was a WAR ZONE. We didn’t speak days at a time. We were always on eggshells. Here's FOUR BIG changes we made to REIGNITE our marriage that you should steal! 1) Mandatory date Nights with no kids! •Have fun together. •Men plan it out for her. At home it can get so monotonous: -Did you pack lunches -Get the laundry done -I took the trash out Every week we hire sitters and go out for a fun adult only date night to connect & grow! Our formula: -Every WEEK we go on dates with NO KIDS! -Every QUARTER we do a 48 hour getaway with NO KIDS. -Every YEAR we do a 5/6 day HONEYMOON TRIP with NO KIDS. We love our kids so much we prioritize each other so we can model for them what an on fire marriage looks like! 2) Keep in-laws, co-workers, & friends opinions OUT! My wife & I say in our marriage two people get a vote. That is it. We are grateful at times to seek wisdom or ask advice from others, but only we get a vote. 3) Stop “watching a show” every night in bed sitting in silence. Watching a show is a crappy excuse to connect. We cancelled: •Hulu •Cable •Netflix •HBOGO If we watch something now, We’re learning together. We’re interacting! No TV in the BEDROOM. Only SLEEP & SEX! 4) We thank each other daily. Thank them for working hard, being a good parent, etc. Showing gratitude goes a long way. Men should LEAD with this!
