We accomplished our first little jump today! First attempt was misjudged and I almost fell off 😂 lots of laughing after, i made a second attempt and was still laughing as I came up 😂

The best boy and I had a nice easy ride yesterday. Did a warm up and then meander through the wild flowers. Such a pretty evening and it felt so nice out 🥰 did a little practice riding without hands

Hitch and I completed our third show today and it was not our best. I was very frustrated with myself in the warm up. Had myself a lil cry.
Every class had a hiccup. The judge changed the pattern in the trail and was leaving the rule judging up to the coordinator??

Baby boy came limping up to me this morning 😭he was doing better a few hours later, but for today and probably tomorrow he's on rest in a run.
Hopefully tomorrow he'll be feeling much better and we'll get some practice in this week before the next show in 2 weeks.

Baby boy came limping up to me this morning 😭he was doing better a few hours later, but for today and probably tomorrow he's on rest in a run.

Hitch got a good grooming today. He was shedding like crazy and I spent AT LEAST an hour brushing him out. Then he got a good bath in which he lost MORE hair. And finally he has his new fly mask on to help prevent him from getting sunburned.

FINALLY got into the new saddle today and omg I LOVE IT! The stirrups are the right length, I feel like I can get my legs around better and cue better and I'm just so delighted that the investment has paid off!

Hitch and I didn't get to practice at all last week. Between bad weather and having some really bad muscle spasms, there just wasn't time.
My back is finally feeling better and the weather was really nice, so today we got to get back to work and had a really good practice!

Hitch didn't much appreciate the shephard running in front of him and just about nipped him in the rear as we were warming up yesterday. 😅 Getting closer to the show and practice time is getting hard to find with the weather being whack 😭

Made another #sourdough sandwich bread loaf this weekend with a slightly different recipe that was originally for hamburger buns, but it turned out VERY well and I'm very happy with it. Mixed it Saturday evening, let it sit in the fridge until Sunday evening, shaped, and then let it rise over night

Today the sun was out and my long time mentor came along for a little ride! We rode down to the river at the back of my coach's property and it was beautiful. 🥰

Today was the first time I've tried making sandwich bread with sourdough starter. It didn't rise nearly enough, but I think it had good flavor. I'll have to try again this weekend or something.
